Korean Hapkido Academy

In 1990 it was decided by brothers David & Paul Hastings to change the name of the Leamington Spa club from the Korean Hapkido Institute to the Korean Hapkido Academy to reflect that it was a place of learning and knowledge.

At that time many people found that the name “Institute” did not resonate well with them and tended to be associate with a place for the mentally ill.

The Korean Hapkido Academy is often referred to as the KHA for short.

hapkido, korean hapkido academy,

David Hastings is Chief Instructor of the Korean Hapkido Academy and has been training in Hapkido since 1982 and started his martial arts training in 1973 with Judo.
